Overview
This white replacement media remote is made to control PlayStation 4 consoles. The unit is formed from ABS plastic with soft-touch rubberized buttons and a slim profile. Approximate dimensions are 160 x 45 x 15 mm. The package contains the media remote only; batteries are not included.
What it controls
The remote provides dedicated PlayStation controls — action buttons, Share, Options, Triangle, Circle, Square, Cross, L1, L2, R1 and R2 — plus playback keys for play/pause, fast-forward and rewind, and navigation arrows for menus and media apps. Its compact layout gives access to essential functions without a full controller.
Pairing with PS4
To pair the remote with a PS4: (1) Power on the console. (2) Using a connected DualShock controller, go to Settings > Accessories > General > Bluetooth Accessories. (3) Press and hold the SHARE and HOME buttons on the remote simultaneously until the backlight blinks. (4) When “PlayStation Media Remote” appears on screen, select it to complete pairing. After pairing, the remote will operate the console’s media features.
Notes on PS5 and reconnection
This replacement unit does not fully support PS5 and can disconnect or behave inconsistently when used with that console. If the remote loses its connection to your PS4, repeat the pairing steps to re-establish the link.
Troubleshooting and reset
If pairing fails, try these steps: remove the batteries and press every button for about 10 seconds to drain residual charge, then reinstall fresh batteries. Fully power down the console and unplug it for ~30 seconds before restarting. Re-attempt the Bluetooth pairing steps if needed. If the battery compartment is stiff, press and slide the cover carefully to avoid damage.

Not as advertised

Stopped working quickly
Worked fine for about a week, then suddenly lost connection. Resetting and fresh batteries didn't help.

Works after persistence
It showed in Bluetooth but needed repeating the pairing steps. The battery cover snaps in place but is awkward to open; no instructions were provided. Once paired it functions on my PS4.

No directions, inconsistent
Arrived in a plastic bag with no paperwork. Found pairing instructions online and got it to work on a PS5 sporadically, but most button presses did nothing. Returned it.

Slick and functional for PS4
Easy to set up on PS4 and looks nice with the backlight. Basic media functions work well. Wish it had better web scrolling, but overall a solid, affordable option.
