Advertised as 13 inches but the unit I got measured much smaller, about 20 cm.

Stops most big splatters — tested it
We ran a simple test: heated oil to smoking in a 9" pan and added water to force spatter. The screen blocked the majority of the oil, though a few small droplets still escaped. When I held a sheet of paper briefly over the screen it caught some spots, proving it cuts down the mess significantly compared with no screen.
