7-Gallon Metal Automatic Poultry Feeder with 6 Ports & Adjustable Legs
Product description
This automatic poultry feeder holds roughly seven gallons (about a 35 lb capacity) of dry feed and is designed to serve medium to larger backyard flocks. The unit includes the main alloy-steel hopper with a clear acrylic viewing panel, a lockable top lid with a leak-proof sealing cap, six deep downward-facing feeding ports, and three reinforced adjustable legs with multiple height settings to accommodate chicks through adult birds.
Constructed from rust-resistant alloy steel, the feeder is intended for outdoor and coop use without deforming or corroding easily. The smooth metal surface wipes clean, and the clear window allows quick visual checks of remaining feed so you can refill at the right time. The feeding ports are shaped to limit birds from dragging grain out onto the ground, reducing waste compared with open trough designs.
Installation is simplified: components fasten to pre-welded nuts on the hopper and require basic hand tools (a screwdriver and the included Allen-style fastener make assembly quick). Protective films cover the acrylic window on both sides—remove them before first use. If any threaded parts or ports fail to seat properly during setup, replacement parts and support are available from the manufacturer to get the feeder operational.
Pros
- Large 7-gallon capacity reduces refill frequency
- Durable rust-resistant alloy-steel body
- Clear window and sealed lid keep feed visible and dry
Cons
- Some users report fastener/port loosening
- May still allow some ground spillage with determined birds
- Acrylic window ships with protective film that must be removed
VerdictA robust, large-capacity metal feeder built to lower feed loss and withstand outdoor conditions. The clear window lets you check levels at a glance, while the deep, downward ports discourage birds from pulling feed out. Sturdy alloy-steel construction and a sealed top protect food from moisture and debris. Assembly is straightforward thanks to pre-welded nuts and simple fasteners. Best for keepers

Clean and dry
Ideal for my coop — accepts a 50 lb bag of crumble, and keeps mess to a minimum with low upkeep.

Chickens stay fed
Works great — I fill it with a full bag and my flock has plenty of food between refills.

Too messy
Holds plenty of food, but my birds still fling a lot onto the floor through the tubes. Would be perfect if the ports were narrower to reduce ground mess.

Terrible build — avoid
Parts fail frequently. The cups won’t stay secure and the fasteners back out, causing spillage all over. The lid is awkward to replace and seems to require an extra pair of hands. Overall a frustrating purchase.

Watch the ports
The rest of the feeder is decent, but within a week two of the six ports started coming loose. We’ll have to jury-rig them to stop that. Disappointing.

Helps a lot
Does a good job with my wild flock that likes to toss feed around. Cuts down on refilling and saves time!

Solid choice
Assembly was easy and the unit feels solid. Good size for my flock and it keeps feed from being wasted. Easy to maintain. My only issue is flies getting into exposed feed.

Sturdy, high capacity, time saver
Exactly what I needed as a first-time chicken keeper who travels. It held my 17 twelve-week-old birds for weeks without issues. The wide ports cut down pecking order problems and there’s much less spilled feed than my DIY options. My chicks learned to use it immediately. Took about 20 minutes to put together; clean and dry surfaces before filling. No leaks so far and very functional.
