12-Inch Shutter Wall/Attic Exhaust Fan with Speed Controller and Cord
Product description
High performance ventilation — This 12-inch shutter exhaust fan produces up to 970 CFM and spins at a maximum of 1600 RPM to quickly expel heat, humidity, dust and odors. The “12-inch” designation refers to the fan blade diameter; refer to the product images for exact overall footprint and cutout dimensions.
Improved motor — The fan is driven by a pure copper motor designed to increase airflow efficiency while lowering noise and energy draw compared with common aluminum-wound motors. That motor choice helps extend service life under regular use.
Durable construction — The unit features a galvanized steel housing with aluminum fan blades and shutters. These materials stand up better to moisture and high temperatures, reducing corrosion and helping the fan last in demanding ventilating environments.
Ready to mount — The exhaust fan ships fully assembled and includes a power cord and a variable-speed controller so you can set the airflow to suit the space. It can be installed in a wall or window opening and secured into framing or substrate.
Versatile applications — Offered in multiple sizes to match different ventilation needs, this shuttered exhaust fan is appropriate for greenhouses, garages, sheds, barns, chicken coops, attics and workshops where reliable air exchange is required.
Pros
- High airflow (970 CFM) for fast ventilation
- Pure copper motor for better efficiency and durability
- Galvanized steel frame with aluminum blades resists corrosion
Cons
- Lowest speed setting may still be too fast for some uses
- A small number of units may fail early
- Requires a proper wall/window opening for installation
VerdictA robust, high-airflow ventilator that combines strong performance with durable construction. The pure copper motor boosts efficiency and longevity while the galvanized frame and aluminum blades resist moisture and heat. It arrives fully assembled and includes a variable speed controller and power cord for flexible installation. Ideal for ventilating medium-to-large outbuildings, garages and green

Keeps garage dry and ventilated
Great for venting fumes and smoke in my garage; paired with a dehumidifier it keeps moisture off my tools and studio. We run it on a timer plus a switch and it has helped maintain a dry environment.

Perfect for a 10x12 garden shed
Installed this on the side wall of my wife's garden shed and it pulls air well, giving good circulation even during 95°F+ heat. Cutting the siding and plywood took some tools—drilled the corner marks from the inside, used an angle grinder on the siding, then a skilsaw and multitool for the plywood. Screwed it in and caulked the edges. Solid build. The variable speed could go lower, but I'll add a timer so it doesn't run constantly. Met expectations.
