Works well, worth the spend
I own both the 1.5 and 3 gal sizes. Swapping cups and nipples is straightforward and the birds use both. After several days of 110°F the inside stays relatively cool. Keep units shaded and don’t overtighten the wing nuts on fittings or they’ll drip.

Surprisingly effective in extreme heat
I bought this to keep water cool and test winter performance. In 95°F Alabama it kept the water noticeably cooler for days. Chickens adapted easily. Comes with nipples and cups, the lid locks solidly, and cleaning is simple. Very pleased and plan to buy another.

Solved our contamination issue
We had dirt and contamination problems until we switched. The smooth, slippery top prevents roosting droppings and the raised legs keep ground dirt out. We started on cups then switched to nipples and it fixed the issue. Insulation helps in heat; winter freeze prevention still untested for us.

In our Arizona sun algae was a constant problem, but this unit cuts that down. It’s sturdy with no leaks so far. For our 40+ birds we need several, so capacity is my only gripe. If it holds up, it’ll be worth it.
